MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND ENERGY REGULATION BOARD (ERB) EXPLAIN ENERGY REFORMS AT THE MUCHINGA INVESTMENT EXPO IN CHINSALI

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has reaffirmed its commitment with ZESCO to address Zambia’s energy challenges through reforms such as diversifying the energy mix and accelerating investments in power generation.

Speaking during the Energy segment at the ongoing Muchinga Investment Expo in Chinsali, ERB Director General Eng. Elijah Sichone highlighted key reforms, including Net Metering and Solar solutions, aimed at lowering electricity costs, enhancing energy security, and increasing the adoption of solar technology.

The Ministry of Energy's Manager - Office for Promoting Private Power Investments, Eng. Clement Chiwele, highlighted the province's pivotal role in the energy future, noting that Muchinga is already a hub for development with multiple projects underway in solar, wind and hydro, which are key to our strategy for increased generation and regional integration.
