The substation feeds power to the National Grid either Northwards to Kafue Town Substation and Southwards to Mukuni Substation and to Choma, Kalomo and Namwala Districts.

The Nations Control Centre (NCC) main functions are to forecast and manage the flow of power and balance supply and demand in real time, intervening when needed. These functions ensure electricity is provided across the ZESCO network in a way that is as timely, reliable and stable. NCC Controllers, who work 24/7, ensure electricity is moved around the country from where it is generated to where its needed.
